PY-48-SBL "Sable" is a Melee Type Frame Girl produced by Pyroferret Productions.
Pyroferret Productions SBL Model, colloquailly dubbed "Sable", offers a heavier platform for fans of a statuesque bodyform. Sable is a Ranged Defender frame favoring endurance battles and heavy ordinance. While having a lack-luster performance in Singles competition, she is a reliable anchor in Team play for her endurance and defensive characteristics.
Appearance
Sable stands taller than average, and mirrors the human-industrial aesthetic established by the Mink. Her shoulder, hip, elbow, and knee joints are all reinforced and moderately protected, and her body profile elicits a thicker construction. Sable shares the Mink's four-fingered hand, with an agile thumb and manipulator finger paired with thicker "power" fingers for grip strength. Her feet are similarly industrial, with two front pads that can dig in with her 'nails' and a rear stabilizer pad. Her armor scheme is traditionally a deep scarlet, with black fur lining at collar and cuffs. The accessory armor coat for the Sable is full sleeved and features a desert camo pattern with similar black fur lining.
The Sable features the standard Pyroferret Production features as well: armor gouging carbide chisel "nails" on both hands and feet in addition to easily replaced wigs and contacts for customization of the head. The base model package comes with long jet black hair in a cascading ponytail by default, sapphire eyes, and matching sapphire nail polish for the nails.
Strategy
As the heavyweight model from Pyroferret Productions, the Sable is engineered to be a durable and reliable design, albeit one with clear strengths and weaknesses. While not the tallest Battleframe Girl in modern competition - something which many Sables learn to be jealous about - her reinforced joints lead her to compete for the strongest. Which she needs to be, as her base kit carries a pair of "Pavise" class riot shields and a shoulder mounted snub-nosed energy cannon. The Pavise are capable of soaking up a great deal of firepower - though the standard Sable is typically classed as a medium-armor design without those battle accessories. A necessity given the weight in carrying those shields. Each shield is capable of deploying a spike meant for deploying the shield as static cover.
Her energy cannon can be fired in direct-fire or indirect-fire modes, but the tracking leaves something to be desired. It establishes the Sable as something akin to a Juggernaut on the field - with all the typical strengths and weakness accordingly. The cannon can be jettisoned, and when combined with deploying both shields, the Sable can shift gears and surprise opponents who close in too tightly with a holdout pistol or sudden melee.
Customization
Pyroferret Productions encourages individual customization of the Sable frame and offers a free trade system for swapping out plating, wigs, and contacts for customer preferred color palettes, charging only the shipping fees involved as long as the items are in servicable condition. (Non-mint condition items are often refurbished into their repair and replacement line of parts.) Direct orders with Pyroferret Productions include color palette selection options. Alternative packages offered by Pyroferret Productions include an Assault Conversion kit, and a Gladiator Melee Conversion kit.
- Assault Conversion Kit: The kit replaces the snub-nose energy cannon with a lighter laser rifle with a much improved tracking profile, and an alternate set of joints. Users are recommended to adjust to a single shield style, or deploy the second Pavise at the start of a match, as overall this Kit improves the manueverability and agility without jettisoning the armorcoat or the primary ranged weapon.
- Gladiator Melee Conversion Kit: This conversion offers a longsword and lightened tower shield for the melee fanatic alongside retuned joints for melee agility, and replaces the snub-cannon with a "Retriarius" Net Launcher that carries three rounds standard. The Gladiator Sable has scored some standout victories in Melee oriented competitions, though the conversion often leads towards Sables developing some grandstanding tendencies.
