E-128 "EDIE" is a Ranged Type Frame Girl produced by BLK-STR. EDIE is a highly technical Frame that uses limited flight capabilities and a powerful arm cannon to dispatch opponents.
Appearance
EDIE stands at 25 centimetres / 9⅘ inches. She has a white, slicked back mullet, a pale complexion, and eyes with white pupils and black sclera. Attached to her torso are two arms with a spindly construction, having their joints exposed without any armour. EDIE's left arm features a larger casing around the forearam housing a skeletal mechanical hand, which can be stored in the casing to reveal a laser cannon. Her legs are much more substantial, tapering down to points at the bottom and featuring two sets of small wings featuring thrusters. Her body is painted a slightly reflective gunmetal gray, with her thighs, left arm, and wingtips being a glossy cherry red. Across her chest, face and right arm are blue panels that glow faintly according to her power reserves.
There are two BLK-STR logos stamped onto EDIE's body; a smaller one across her chest, and a larger one on her left thigh.
Strategy
EDIE is characterised by using her thrusters to quickly reposition and scale vertical terrain, making use of the elevation to line up a perfect shot with her powerful arm cannon. To maximise the power of her thrusters and cannon, EDIE has minimal defenses and is not sturdy enough to use a weapon any stronger than her low caliber battle rifle.
While her battle rifle is far from ineffective, its low damage means that it is more commonly used as a keepaway tool while EDIE searches for an advantageous position. Her primary win condition is landing a direct hit with her arm cannon, which is able to disable most Frames in a single attack when fully charged. However, the cannon also consumes an extreme amount of EDIE's power when fired, with the model not carrying enough power to fire a charged shot more than once per battle. Missing a charged cannon shot will drastically worsen EDIE's chances of winning as both her strongest weapon and her thrusters will be severely hampered.
EDIE's haughty personality can sometimes lead to her underestimating her opponents and becoming self-assured in her victory. While she is able to remain cool-headed in a losing position, having the advantage can sometimes cause EDIE to become sloppy and get blindsided by a skilled adversary.
EDIE's attributes combine to produce a high skill, high reward playstyle in battle. She has two very strong tools that can be used to decisively win matches, but are highly punishing if EDIE makes an error.
Typical for a BLK-STR model, success with EDIE requires abusing the strengths of her thrusters and cannon in order to cover for her weaknesses. She performs exceedingly well against Frames with limited mobility where her thrusters provide an overwhelming advantage, as they are easier to manipulate and move into position for a perfectly aimed cannon shot. Where this would normally indicate a struggle against opponents who are more agile, EDIE is able to stay competitive through utilising her battle rifle and capitalising on small mistakes by firing the cannon with a shortened charge.
EDIE struggles with battles in enclosed spaces and rough terrain. Tight spaces and obstructions limit her ability to use her thrusters effectively and provide plenty of ways for an opponent to break her sightline, making the arm cannon much harder to use. Frames who are able to create cover such as Sable must also have this ability mitigated before EDIE can risk a charged shot.
Personality
EDIEs typically have a sense of superiority and will address other Frame Girls with a high-handed attitude. They often carry a complex around their nature as a BLK-STR Frame, and believe that their manufacturer makes them better than other Frames, usually assuming they are more elegant and/or intelligent. However, regular exposure and interaction with non-BLK-STR Frames quickly softens these characteristics.
EDIEs have a tendency to enjoy quiet, cerebral hobbies, such as listening to and playing classical instruments and playing chess.
