However, these templates also automatically categorize an article into a level of canonicity, hence it is problematic to use them outside of the intended articles. The solution to this are so called "Barren" templates, '''<nowiki>{{evilgreg}}, {{Fan Made Barren}} and {{Not Canon Barren}}</nowiki>'''.
New page

Canonicity in BattleFrame Girl is slightly more complex than in most webcomics. [[Bob]], the creator of the comic in general approves and appreciates fan-made content, and it is the stance of the Wiki team that as long as the content has genuine effort put in, and is done in good faith, there are no problems in having it included on the wiki.

Due to this, we have banners for various levels of canonicity. These should be on the very top of the article.

{{evilgreg}}
{{Fan Made Barren}}

* <nowiki>{{greg}}</nowiki> is the official stamp of canonicity on the wiki. It is reserved only for content that has either shown up in the comic (excluding BFG If...), or that has been explicitly said by Bob to be canon.
* <nowiki>{{Fan Made}}</nowiki> is for Fan Made content. This should be your default header if you are not certain whether something is canonical or not. This is not just limited to things explicitly made by fans, but also fan made conjecture, and analysis (Listen, the Wiki-crew has nothing but love for Bob, but his ass is not smart enough to consider every implication of every small thing he writes. If you spent 4 hours analyzing the wear patterns on the buildings of the comic to determine what Sadies favorite flavour of paint is, you made Fan Content, you did not "derive canon").

==Non-canon Content (Turn back now)==
The BFG-community has a proud history of creating fan content with the explicit intention of torturing Bob. This is not done in an evil spirit, but as a community in-joke (Top Bants, if one may), and this content is often [[Sadie Chargers' Fat Milkers|highly]] [[Can Squirming|inappropriate]]. The official stance of the Wiki, and its moderation, is that this behavior is incredibly funny, and it should both continue, and be supported. As such, the Wiki has a template for such content, the <nowiki>{{Not Canon}}</nowiki> template.

{{Not Canon Barren}}

It does however come with some caveats.
# Canon pages should not link to Non-Canon pages (Fan Made content however can do so).
# The joke should be both funny, and in good spirit (Both of these factors are evaluated by the Wiki moderators, and if necessary, Bob himself).

==Namespace and Barren templates==
The guidance above only applies to articles in the "Main" namespace only. These are the articles without a namespace in front of it (Like this pages "Wiki:" or "User:" for the user specific pages. There are however times at which you may wish to use such a template outside of these spaces (For example, this page). However, these templates also automatically categorize an article into a level of canonicity, hence it is problematic to use them outside of the intended articles.
